FALL 2014

After 21 wonderful years, last fall I retired from the sheep portion of my business. (I'm not totally retired ha! Still raising beef and pigs, just not sheep:)

But the SkyLines sheep & wool tradition will continue!

Many of the the SkyLines best breeding ewes and 2013 lambs have been purchased by a wonderful family of shepherds who share my deep love for animals & sustainable agriculture AND my passion for producing exquisite wool fibers!

Stan & Jean Hayes and Eileen Napier of Ramstead Ranch have been studying my approach to sustainable sheep management for years, as they've developed their beautiful 120-acre grass-based ranch in northeast Washington.

Ramstead Ranch is using my genetics to further improve their breeding flock of sheep. A flock that, like the SkyLines sheep, remains superbly healthy, happy, and productive under organic and sustainable management practices that respect the animals as well as the land. And they'll continue to provide exquisite wool fleeces for handpinners across the country, along with lean & delicious pasture raised lamb.

>> Visit Ramstead Ranch for full details on all of the Ramstead Ranch pasture-raised meats and divine fleeces for handspinners. <<

The entire SkyLines Farm website will remain available. It contains much useful information about organic/sustainable farm and livestock management practices, raising great wool, living with livestock guardian dogs, raising superior breeding stock sheep, growing great grassfed lamb and beef....and much more. (Not to mention many hundreds of photos taken over 20+ years that illustrate how hard work, good management, and lots of love can create a farm that's thriving, productive, and supportive for all creatures.) Enjoy!

I want to extend a warm thank you to everyone who's purchased lambs, wool, or sheep from me over the years. It's been an honor working with you! Thanks! Melissa
